Netflix‘s new K-Drama has sparked fiercely divided reactions after dropping its trailer.

The K-Drama in question is titled The 8 Show, based on Bae Jin Soo’s webcomic Money Game. According to Netflix, “Eight individuals trapped in a mysterious 8-story building participate in a tempting but dangerous game show where they earn money as time passes.”

8 people in need of money are invited to appear on reality variety show Money Game. The 8 people are to stay at the studio that consists of nothing but concrete walls. If they are able to hang in there for 100 days, they can divide the winning prize of 44.8 billion won equally. But, everything they spend for, including necessities like food, water, electricity, costs 1,000 times more than normal prices and are deducted from the winning prize.

However, many confessed that they would skip watching The 8 Show due to Ryu Jun Yeol. The public opinion of the actor has been negative since his scandal with actress Han So Hee and Girl’s Day‘s Lee Hyeri. Some believe he even broke up with Hyeri after nearly eight years for Han So Hee. During the heated discourse online, both women spoke up, but he remained silent throughout, much to Han So Hee’s dismay, as she was accused of being a “homewrecker.” Non-surprisingly, the two broke up after just two weeks since the relationship went public.

Yet, many netizens are also flabbergasted at the hate in the comment section. Some defended Ryu Jun Yeol, saying that he did enough through his agency’s few statements and that he technically did nothing wrong.
