Retired Japanese figure skater Miki Ando was recently spotted on an alleged date with a student.
According to Weekly Bunshun, Ando was seen at Universal Japan with her 16-year-old student, whom she began coaching last year when he was a junior in high school. The report said that after a recent competition, Ando, the student, and his mother headed to the theme park, where they entered holding each other around their waists.
It was also said that the pair began to hold hands once the student’s mother walked away to handle ticketing. The report also alleged that many in the figure skating world had wondered about the true nature of the relationship between the student and teacher.
Shortly after the report was released, Ando seemingly addressed these rumors on X.
In a post with a photo, Ando shared that she felt burnt out and questioned why people assumed things without knowing the truth.

Miki Ando won several world championships during her active time as a skater, skating for Japan during the Winter Olympics in 2006 and 2010.
The 36-year-old had one child with an unnamed man, born in 2013, and was in a public relationship with Spanish skater Javier Fernández López for several years until an unannounced break-up.
